If there is a food that is synonymous with health and fitness is the eggplant flour. Rich in fiber and many other nutrients, you can lose weight, decrease levels of blood fats such as cholesterol and triglycerides, and also improves their quality of life in every way. Besides being used in natura in salads or whole in preparations such as lasagne layer, for example, it may be submitted in the format juice, tea and flour. But among such derivatives, it is believed that eggplant flour is the one that maintains its original properties.

A survey conducted by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) proved that eggplant flour may potentiate the effects of a healthy diet and regular practice of physical exercises, greatly improving the results of those who want to lose weight. Research has shown that the eggplant flour helps to decrease the amount of fat in the belly area, reduces the concentration of triglycerides in the blood, total cholesterol, LDL (bad cholesterol) and VLDL (LDL close relative).

It is believed that eggplant flour contains nutrients wherein the plant is rich, as vitamin B3 (niacin) and vitamin C, for example. But this has not been studied and established.

The biggest advantage of eggplant flour is in its high fiber composition. To get an idea, they are given 55 grams of fiber a day on a diet of 2,000 calories daily. The eggplant flour present in a 6.8 grams portion of a tablespoon (15 grams), or equivalent to 27% of this value.

It is also important to combine the intake of flour some food source of vitamin C, to prevent the formation of free radicals.

Contraindications – There are no specific contraindications to the use of eggplant flour, except care of consuming it with antioxidant foods, to prevent the formation of free radicals.

The excess fibers can cause constipation, loss of nutrients by competing at the absorption site, among other problems. Before starting to eat the eggplant flour to lose weight, find a nutritionist to make an assessment and determine the amount you can consume. Moreover, eggplant is rich in carbohydrates, which when consumed in large amounts cause weight gain.

The benefits of eggplant flour for those who want to lose weight are many, however, you need to face the fact that it alone will not make you lose weight.
